Trillium CNG and Golden Eagle Distributors, Inc. are Bringing Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Fueling Stations to Arizona in 2012
The Stations will Fuel Golden Eagle's Fleet and Provide Public CNG Fueling in Tucson and Casa Grande
Chicago, IL (April 12, 2012)--Today, Trillium CNG and Golden Eagle Distributors, Inc. announced the scheduled opening of two compressed natural gas (CNG) fueling stations in Arizona. The two sites, located in Tucson and Casa Grande, will provide CNG fuel for Golden Eagle's fleet of class 7 and 8 trucks. Both sites will be open to the public 24 hours per day, seven days per week providing convenient access to CNG in the surrounding areas.
The stations will incorporate the Pinnacle hydraulic intensifier compressor, which optimizes the use of the high pressure storage at the station. This will allow trucks to fuel at rates of 8 to 10 gallons per minute with the reliability that Trillium CNG customers have come to rely on.
Construction for the Tucson site began in March 2012 and the Casa Grande site will break ground shortly. The Tucson site, scheduled to open in June 2012, will be located at 705 E Ajo Way. The Casa Grande site, located at 1000 N Jefferson Avenue, will follow close behind with a scheduled opening in August. Trillium CNG will build, operate and maintain both locations.
The stations will accept major credit cards and fleet cards. Special fuel pricing programs will be available to encourage other fleets to take advantage of the economic and environmental benefits of CNG.
"These stations create the needed infrastructure to serve our CNG fleets," said Bill Osteen, Senior Vice President Operations, Golden Eagle Distributors, Inc. "Working with Trillium allows us to share that CNG infrastructure with other fleets and the public, making CNG a more viable option for other local fleets and individuals. We are proud to be able to provide this infrastructure to our communities."
"We are excited to support Golden Eagle in their pioneering efforts to make use of a clean, domestic and abundant resource - natural gas fuel," said Charles Koontz, VP of Commercial Operations for Trillium CNG. "The low price of CNG is changing the equation for truck fleets. The savings from using natural gas will provide a rapid payback for the project and create ongoing value for the company."
