Leading manufacturer of propane autogas technology kicks off propane’s yearlong centennial celebration at NPGA’s 2012 Southeastern Convention & International Propane Expo

LIVONIA, MICH. (March 26, 2012) — To honor the upcoming 100th anniversary of propane, ROUSH CleanTech is joining the festivities at the Propane Centennial Celebration and Propane Clean Air Rally & Autogas Parade. These events kick off at the 2012 National Propane Gas Association (NPGA) Southeastern Convention & International Propane Expo on April 14 – 16 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta. In recognition of this major milestone in American and autogas history, ROUSH CleanTech is donating the propane autogas fuel system to be raffled along with a 2012 model year Ford F-250 at 4:00 p.m. EST on Sunday, April 15.

“ROUSH CleanTech is proud to be part of the propane community,” said Joe Thompson, president of ROUSH CleanTech. “This event will commemorate the industry’s rich history of cleaner-burning domestic fuel, and kick off the next 100 years of propane achievements in delivering our country from dependence on foreign sources of energy.”

Preceding the Expo, ROUSH CleanTech joins the Propane Clean Air Rally & Autogas Parade, which is the first-ever parade of its kind. Along with a variety of on- and off-road vehicles from participating manufacturers, ROUSH CleanTech will show a propane autogas fueled Ford vehicle in the parade, which is scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m. on April 14 in Centennial Olympic Park.
Afterward, the vehicles will be available at the Ride & Drive event and for product demonstrations. Participants will learn firsthand about propane autogas and ROUSH CleanTech vehicles, which have equivalent horsepower, torque and towing capacity to gasoline versions of the same models, but emit up to 25 percent fewer greenhouse gas emissions.
At 1:05 p.m., Rob Little, central region fleet sales manager for ROUSH CleanTech, is slated to speak about the benefits of vehicles fueled by propane autogas. During the expo, ROUSH CleanTech will display a Type C Blue Bird Propane-Powered Vision school bus, demonstrating the fuel’s versatility in applications ranging from light- and medium-duty work vehicles to full size school buses.
