Mountain Power announces that they will be one of the first electric
utility fleets in the nation to drive a new extended range electric pick
up truck developed by Utah based electric vehicle company VIA Motors.
VIA is teamed with General Motors to install VIA's extended range
electric powertrain into GM trucks, vans and SUVs. The trucks also
include a bidirectional grid connection and power export option with
120V-240V outlets built into the truck delivering 15 kW at 30 amps for
the job site or emergencies. The deployment in Utah is part of a
national program in cooperation with the DOE and many of the nation's
leading utility fleets.
Refreshments will be served.
